Relaxed a bit

Tuesday was a furlough day so I didn't have to go to school which I liked. I pretty much slept in for half of the day. Also wanted to sleep in cause I have been sore lately so I just wanted to relax. Pretty much throughout Tuesday I just relaxed around the house. Even though it was a relaxing day it ruined the week for me. It made me think that it was the weekend already since it was such a relaxing day. Then Wednesday came along and I had school again.

Know Yourself
My strengths for writing are being organized and thought out. My weaknesses are not using strong vocabulary and punctuation errors. The strategies to improve are getting help from the writing center and asking the teacher for help.

I don't really have any skill in public speaking because I get nervous in front of a lot of people. The areas I need improvement on are mostly all of the things listed. I can talk in front of people but I don't do it very well. My strategy is to practice talking in front of a small group and then expanding each time.

Your Journal
- I noticed the person was giving a bad speech when they took a couple minutes to get started. They were trying to figure out what they were going to say and were unprepared.

-The speaker tried to make up for the mistakes by talking about a subject he knew well for the majority of the speech.

-I felt bad for the person as the speech flopped because no one should ever have to be in that situation in front of an audience.

-The advice I would give the speaker would be to practice and know your material very well.

-It would help influence me because it shows me how I should be prepared and know what I am talking about so I don't stumble.

The strategies that help me produce more effective writing were sleeping on it, choosing the write words, and proofreading the paper.
